Eccoci alla fine di questa doppia trasferta in terra lusitana. Quattro giornate di caldo e polvere in quel di Fafe, non distante da Porto.
Due ottime gare organizzate dal club locale, anche se onestamente meglio correre ad aprile qui. Condizioni più umane, meglio anche per la gente del luogo.
Torniamo a casa con degli ottimi risultati, a parte un “imprevisto” sulla moto di Holcombe il sabato della prima gara. Ma ora veniamo ai nostri ragazzi.
Holcombe: 3 vittorie su 4 giornate la dicono lunga sulle performance di Steve e della Sherco 300 2t. Peccato per la noia “elettrica” della prima gara di sabato, quando ad un passo dalla vittoria, un filo elettrico ha deciso di abbandonarci… una stupidata, eppure questa stupidata ci è costata cara.
Steve non si è abbattuto e poi ha realizzato il suo triplete. Diciamo che un po’ di sfiga in eccesso c’è stata. Comunque, campionato aperto, avanti a lavorare.
Macdonald: grande Hamish, inizio stagione sbiadito alle spalle, ottime performance con la sua Sherkotta 300 4 tempi, ottimi risultati. Sempre a podio, con la ciliegina sulla torta di ieri, giornata in cui ha dominato la E2, con condimento di un grande 2° posto assoluto! Il Kiwi è in forma. Avanti così. C’è voluto un momento, ma le stigmate del campione ci sono.
Roussaly: il ragazzo è in forte crescita, due bei podi ed ormai costante nella top ten dell’assoluta. Il lavoro premia, questo è il caso più eclatante.
Magain: non in forma come ad inizio stagione, delle buone cose ma tanti errori. Ma lui è uno tosto e lo aspettiamo alla grande. Sa cosa deve fare.
Il Team ha girato bene, trasferta lunga, calcolando che Hamish e Magain si sono sparati la Trefle Lozerien la settimana prima. Quindi a casa tutti interi, va già bene.
Poco riposo, anzi niente, a breve l’italiano in Val Tidone e poi subito mondiale in Francia. Chi si ferma è perduto.

Here we are at the end of this double trip to Portugal. Four days of heat and dust in Fafe, not far from Porto.
Two excellent races organized by the local club, although honestly, it’s better to race here in April. More humane conditions, better for the locals too.
We’re returning home with excellent results, except for an unexpected issue with Holcombe’s bike on the Saturday of the first race. But now let’s get to our guys.
Holcombe: Three wins out of four days speaks volumes about Steve and the Sherco 300 2-stroke’s performance. It’s a shame about the “electrical” problem of the first race on Saturday, when, just shy of victory, an electrical wire decided to abandon us… stupid, but it cost us dearly.
Steve didn’t give up and went on to achieve his hat-trick. Let’s just say there was a bit of bad luck. Anyway, championship open, let’s keep working.
Macdonald: Great Hamish, a lackluster start to the season behind him, excellent performances aboard his Sherco 300 four-stroke, excellent results. Always on the podium, with yesterday’s icing on the cake, when he dominated the E2 class, topped off with a great 2nd place overall! The Kiwi is in great form. Keep it up. It took a moment, but the hallmarks of a champion are there.
Roussaly: The boy is growing rapidly, with two impressive podium finishes and a consistent top ten finish overall. Hard work pays off, and this is the most striking example.
Magain: Not as fit as he was at the start of the season, some good things, but a lot of mistakes. But he’s a tough guy, and we’re expecting a lot from him. He knows what he has to do.
The team performed well, a long trip, considering that Hamish and Magain won the Trefle Lozerien the week before. So, all home in one piece, which is already good.
Little rest, actually none at all, soon the Italian Championships in Val Tidone and then immediately the World Championships in France. Never stop!
