Jarno Boano: “Fafe 2. Stessa città ma una gara completamente nuova per questo secondo GP Portoghese. Un Extreme test molto lento ed insidioso a fatto la differenza nei risultati finali di giornata. Esempio in Day1 uno dopo poche curve Zach è caduto pesantemente giù da un sasso perdendo oltre 20 secondi. Un inizio giornata difficile al quale però Zach a risposto con grande determinazione recuperando lo svantaggio accumulato e, purtroppo, perdendo la vittoria per soli 0.2 secondi. Anche in day due un errore nell’enduro test è costato la vittoria finale. Zach ha comunque concluso il week end con due terzi posti in EGP e due secondi posti in E2 che lo mantengono in lotta per il Campionato in E2. Ottima gara anche per Elgari che con un terzo e primo posto riesce a mettere un pò di punti di distacco tra lui ed il secondo in Campionato. Per Verzeroli due giornate positive sempre a ridosso dei primi assoluti della junior, per lui un quarto e quinto posto in EJ2. Week end un pò in salita per Matteo, che non è riuscito a trovare il giusto feeling con le speciali e con qualche caduta di troppo. Per lui un quinto e settimo posto in E3, un pò al di sotto delle aspettative. Nel complesso sono state quattro giornate di gara impegnative sia per il cado che per il tipo di prove speciali. Anche in questo secondo appuntamento le prove si sono scavate in modo importante e si sono formati canali di polvere difficili da interpretare e affrontare. Tutto il Team ha lavorato alla grande ed i ragazzi ci hanno messo il 110% dell’impegno. Torniamo a casa con due tabelle rosse e la possibilità di lottare per il titolo E2. 21 podi in quattro giornate, che ci danno la spinta per continuare a lavorare in questa intensa stagione di gare. Jarno Boano: “Fafe 2. Same city but a completely new race for this second Portuguese GP. A very slow and treacherous Extreme test made the difference in the final results of the day. For example, on Day 1, after a few corners, Zach fell heavily from a rock, losing over 20 seconds. A difficult start to the day, but Zach responded with great determination, recovering the accumulated disadvantage and, unfortunately, losing the victory by just 0.2 seconds. Also on Day 2, a mistake in the enduro test cost him the overall victory. Zach nevertheless finished the weekend with two third places in EGP and two second places in E2, keeping him in the fight for the E2 Championship. An excellent race also for Elgari, who with a third and a first place managed to put a few points between himself and the second in the Championship. For Verzeroli, two positive days always close to the overall leaders of the junior class, for him a fourth and fifth place in EJ2. A bit of an uphill weekend for Matteo, who was unable to find the right feeling with the special stages and with a few too many crashes. For him, a fifth and seventh place in E3, a little below expectations. Overall, they were four challenging days of racing, both due to the heat and the type of special stages. In this second round, too, the stages were significantly dug out, and dust channels formed that were difficult to interpret and negotiate. The entire team worked great, and the guys put 110% effort into it. We’re returning home with two red plates and the chance to fight for the E2 title. 21 podiums in four days, which gives us the motivation to continue working in this intense racing season.
