Il Team Lunigiana Enduro non ha preso parte al primo dei due appuntamenti portoghesi del Mondiale EnduroGP, disputato a Fafe, e non sarà al via nemmeno nel secondo round lusitano, in programma la prossima settimana sempre nella stessa località. Una doppia assenza che nasce da una situazione particolare, maturata già nelle prime fasi della stagione e legata alla complessa costruzione del programma sportivo 2026.
La squadra si era infatti trovata a dover rivedere in tempi molto stretti il proprio assetto dopo la rescissione del contratto da parte del pilota inizialmente previsto per affrontare il doppio impegno negli Assoluti d’Italia e nel Mondiale. L’arrivo di Chater nel Team Lunigiana è avvenuto quindi “in corsa”, con l’obiettivo di non interrompere il progetto e di garantire continuità a una stagione già avviata.
GLI IMPEGNI DI CHATER
Proprio per la natura di questo inserimento, il calendario del pilota e quello del team hanno richiesto un progressivo adattamento. Quando Chater è entrato nella struttura, il Mondiale EnduroGP non rappresentava il centro del suo programma originario: il pilota aveva già impostato una parte importante della stagione su impegni nazionali e su appuntamenti precedentemente definiti. Dopo il rientro dalla gara in Finlandia, a fine maggio, è emersa l’impossibilità di affrontare la trasferta portoghese, risultata concomitante con un impegno sportivo già programmato.
Il Team Lunigiana ha preso atto della situazione, scegliendo di gestirla con equilibrio e senza forzature. L’assenza dai due round di Fafe non cambia il senso del progetto, ma rappresenta una pausa organizzativa all’interno di una stagione nata con presupposti complessi. La squadra utilizzerà questo periodo per continuare il lavoro tecnico sulle Sherco, moto con cui ha aperto il nuovo ciclo nel 2026, concentrandosi sulla messa a punto, sull’affiatamento con i mezzi e sulla preparazione dei prossimi appuntamenti.
IL LAVORO PROSEGUE A PIENO RITMO
Questa fase sarà utile anche per approfondire la conoscenza delle diverse moto che la struttura è chiamata a seguire: da una parte le Sherco del Team Lunigiana, sulle quali prosegue il lavoro di adattamento tecnico, dall’altra quelle del tedesco Luca Fisheder, pilota con il quale la squadra ha già avviato una collaborazione positiva sul fronte dell’assistenza. La possibilità di lavorare senza la pressione della gara consentirà di analizzare assetti, esigenze di manutenzione, gestione dei ricambi e soluzioni operative, costruendo una base più solida in vista del rientro nel paddock mondiale.
APPUNTAMENTO IN FRANCIA
In parallelo, il team sta già lavorando per proseguire la propria presenza nel Mondiale. Dopo la positiva collaborazione già avviata, sono in corso contatti con il management di Luca Fisheder per rinnovare l’assistenza al pilota in occasione del GP di Francia, in programma a Saint-Agrève dal 17 al 19 luglio. Una possibilità ormai molto concreta, che confermerebbe la volontà del Team Lunigiana di restare parte attiva del paddock internazionale e di valorizzare il lavoro costruito in questa fase di transizione.
L’obiettivo resta quello di affrontare la parte conclusiva della stagione con maggiore conoscenza delle moto, più solidità organizzativa e la determinazione necessaria per trasformare le difficoltà iniziali in una base utile per il futuro.

TEAM LUNIGIANA ENDURO RESHAPES ITS WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP PROGRAMME AND CONTINUES WORKING ON THE SHERCO BIKES
Team Lunigiana Enduro did not take part in the first of the two Portuguese rounds of the EnduroGP World Championship, held in Fafe, and will not be on the start line for the second Portuguese round either, scheduled for next week at the same venue. This double absence stems from a particular situation that developed in the early stages of the season, linked to the complex construction of the team’s 2026 sporting programme.
The team had in fact been forced to review its structure at very short notice after the rider originally signed to take part in both the Italian Enduro Championship and the World Championship terminated his contract just a few days before the opening race. Chater’s arrival at Team Lunigiana therefore came “on the run”, with the aim of keeping the project alive and ensuring continuity in a season that had already started.
Chater’s commitments
Precisely because of the nature of this mid-season addition, the rider’s calendar and the team’s programme required a gradual adjustment. When Chater joined the structure, the EnduroGP World Championship was not the central focus of his original plans: the rider had already built an important part of his season around national commitments and previously defined events. After returning from the race in Finland at the end of May, it became clear that it would not be possible for him to take part in the Portuguese trip, as it clashed with an already scheduled sporting commitment..
Team Lunigiana acknowledged the situation and chose to manage it with balance and without forcing matters. The absence from the two Fafe rounds does not change the meaning of the project, but represents an organisational pause within a season that began under complex circumstances. The team will use this period to continue its technical work on the Sherco bikes, with which it opened a new cycle in 2026, focusing on set-up, familiarity with the machines and preparation for the upcoming events.
Work continues at full speed
This phase will also be useful to deepen the team’s understanding of the different bikes it is called upon to support: on one side, the Sherco machines of Team Lunigiana, on which technical adaptation work continues; on the other, those of German rider Luca Fisheder, with whom the team has already started a positive collaboration in terms of race assistance. Being able to work without the immediate pressure of competition will allow the team to analyse set-up choices, maintenance needs, spare parts management and operational solutions, building a stronger foundation ahead of its return to the World Championship paddock.
Next stop: France
In parallel, the team is already working to continue its presence in the World Championship. Following the positive collaboration already started, contacts are ongoing with Luca Fisheder’s management to renew the assistance agreement for the GP of France, scheduled in Saint-Agrève from July 17 to 19. This is now a very concrete possibility, one that would confirm Team Lunigiana’s intention to remain an active part of the international paddock and to make the most of the work carried out during this transition phase.
The goal remains to face the final part of the season with greater knowledge of the bikes, stronger organisational solidity and the determination needed to turn the initial difficulties into a useful foundation for the future.
