Jarno Boano: “SIAMO CAMPIONI DEL MONDO. Un week end intenso dove la tensione era sopra il normale. Per Elgari la situazione era un pò più “rilassata” avendo ventuno punti di vantaggio, ma comunque due giornate di gara da portare al termine. Alberto nella prima giornata è stato molto concreto battagliando per la vittoria fino a metà gara poi ha ceduto il passo al suo avversario per non prendere troppi rischi. Domenica, dove bastava un dodicesimo posto per vincere il titolo, Alberto ha amministrato alla grande e con un ottimo quinto posto a portato a casa il suo primo Titolo Mondiale!! Super!! Situazione molto più tesa con Zach, dove sei punti ci sepravano dal primo, Andrea Verona. Nel Day1 Zach è stato perfetto e con la sua vittoria ed il terzo posto di Verona il distacco di era ridotto ad 1 punto. Domenica mattina Zach è partito subito bene vincendo le prime due speciale, ma nella terza ha commesso il suo primo errore cadendo. Nella speciale dopo non è stato incisivo come nel Day 1 ed il distacco da Andrea ha iniziato ad aumentare. Poi un altro piccolo errore nell’enduro test per Zach ed il distacco è salito a quindici secondi con quattro prove alla fine della gara. Zach a questo punto ha cambiato passo, ma Verona non ha mollato. Nell’ultimo cross Zach ha fatto l’impossibile recuperando ben dieci secondi che non sono però bastati! Vice Campione del Mondo!!…Se analizzo la stagione e mettiamo l’infortunio di inizio anno, non possiamo che essere super soddisfatti…ma quando vedi la possibilità lì a così poco un pò di amaro in bocca rimane.
Grande gara anche per Verzeroli che dimostra che il suo percorso di crescita sta dando i suoi frutti, due podi nella assoluta Junior e la vittoria in EJ2 nel primo giorno!..Matteo Cavallo si è invece sacrificato per la “causa” Pichon correndo anche lui con una 300 4t e anticipando ai c.o. per supportare Zach in gara. Ora ci godiamo il Titolo Mondiale di Alberto, il Vice Campione di Zach e il titolo mondiale del Team Junior di Pietro Scardina…il futuro?…ora ci serve una pausa e poi vedremo!!! Grazie a tutti per il supporto!! ”
Jarno Boano: “WE ARE WORLD CHAMPIONS. An intense weekend where the tension was above normal. For Elgari the situation was a bit more “relaxed” with a twenty-one point advantage, but still two days of racing to complete. Alberto was very concrete on the first day, battling for the victory until halfway through the race, then he gave way to his opponent so as not to take too many risks. On Sunday, where a twelfth place would have been enough to win the title, Alberto managed it very well and with an excellent fifth place he took home his first World Title!! Super!! The situation was much more tense with Zach, where six points separated us from the leader, Andrea Verona. On Day 1 Zach was perfect and with his victory and third place in Verona the gap had been reduced to 1 point. On Sunday morning Zach started off well, winning the first two special stages, but in the third he made his first mistake, crashing. In the following special stage he wasn’t as incisive as on Day 1 and the gap from Andrea began to increase. Then another small mistake in the enduro test for Zach, and the gap rose to fifteen seconds with four tests to go. At this point Zach changed pace, but Verona didn’t give up. In the last cross, Zach did the impossible, gaining a full ten seconds, but it wasn’t enough! Vice World Champion!!…If I analyze the season and include the injury at the beginning of the year, we can’t help but be super satisfied…but when you see the opportunity there for so little, a bit of a bitter taste remains. Great race also for Verzeroli, who shows that his growth path is bearing fruit. Two podiums in the Junior overall and the victory in EJ2 on the first day!..Matteo Cavallo instead sacrificed himself for the Pichon “cause”, also racing with a 300 4t and arriving early at the time checks to support Zach in the race. Thanks Matteo!! Now we can enjoy Alberto’s World Title, Zach’s Vice Championship and Pietro Scardina’s Junior Team World Title…the future?…now We need a break and then we’ll see!!!
