Dopo i segnali positivi emersi nei primi due appuntamenti stagionali, il giovane pilota britannico si è misurato con una gara molto particolare, disputata in un contesto tipicamente nordico e su un terreno tra i più selettivi dell’intera stagione. A Vierumäki, nell’area di Salpausselkä, i piloti hanno affrontato un giro di circa 61 chilometri da ripetere tre volte al giorno, con tre prove speciali per ogni tornata: Extreme Test, Enduro Test e Cross Test. Il tutto su un fondo difficile da interpretare, con fango, acqua, sabbia, radici, pietre e lunghi passaggi nei boschi, reso ancora più insidioso dalla pioggia del venerdì e dal progressivo deterioramento del terreno nel corso del weekend.
UNA GARA DURA E MOLTO SELETTIVA
Per Chater, impegnato nella classe E3 in sella alla Sherco preparata dal Team Lunigiana Enduro, la Finlandia ha rappresentato un banco di prova severo. La E3 si conferma infatti una delle categorie più combattute e impegnative del Mondiale, con la presenza di piloti del calibro di Steve Holcombe, Brad Freeman, Albin Norrbin e Matteo Cavallo, tutti inseriti stabilmente nella classe regina delle grosse cilindrate quattro tempi e due tempi.
Anche in questo contesto, Charlie ha saputo affrontare il weekend con regolarità e lucidità, restando vicino alla top ten della categoria in tutte le fasi del fine settimana.
SEMPRE PIÙ AVANTI IN CAMPIONATO
Nel Super Test del venerdì, Charlie Chater ha chiuso al 34° posto assoluto e all’11° posto della classe E3.
Nella giornata di sabato ha poi concluso al 35° posto assoluto, confermandosi ancora 11° nella E3.
Anche domenica il pilota britannico ha mantenuto una buona continuità, terminando al 33° posto assoluto e nuovamente 11° di classe E3.
Risultati che non lo hanno ancora riportato dentro la top ten di categoria, ma che confermano una tendenza positiva: Chater ha portato a termine un’altra gara regolare, in una classe dal livello elevatissimo e su un terreno tutt’altro che semplice, proseguendo quel lavoro di crescita e di adattamento che rappresenta il vero obiettivo di questa fase della stagione. Nel mondiale Charlie è attualmente 10°, con 35 punti.
LUCA FISHEDER
IL TEAM LUNIGIANA AL FIANCO ANCHE DI LUCA FISHEDER
Il weekend finlandese ha portato però anche un’altra soddisfazione alla struttura guidata da Gianni Belloni. A Vierumäki, infatti, il Team Lunigiana Enduro ha curato l’assistenza della Sherco del tedesco Luca Fischeder, già campione tedesco di enduro, che ha scelto di affidarsi al team per la gestione tecnica durante la trasferta mondiale.
Per Fischeder si è trattato del debutto stagionale nel Mondiale, chiuso con risultati di rilievo fin dal venerdì. Nel Super Test ha ottenuto il 6° posto assoluto e una strepitosa seconda posizione nella E3, confermando subito un livello molto competitivo. Sabato ha poi terminato 28° assoluto e 9° di classe, mentre domenica ha compiuto un ulteriore passo avanti con il 17° posto assoluto e il 6° nella E3.
Un esordio internazionale molto positivo, che al momento non scioglie ancora del tutto i dubbi sulla prosecuzione della sua stagione mondiale, ma che ha già aperto una porta concreta: se Fischeder deciderà di continuare il proprio programma iridato, lo farà con ogni probabilità ancora insieme al Team Lunigiana Enduro, già pronto ad accoglierlo a partire dal doppio appuntamento in Portogallo, in programma nei weekend del 12-14 giugno e del 19-21 giugno.

«La Finlandia è stata una gara davvero tosta, molto diversa dalle precedenti. Il terreno cambiava continuamente e bisognava restare concentrati in ogni speciale, perché tra fango, radici, pietre e tratti nei boschi era facile commettere errori. Non era semplice trovare subito il ritmo, ma credo che nel complesso sia stato un altro weekend utile. Siamo rimasti vicini alla top ten della E3 in tutte le giornate e continuiamo a raccogliere esperienza importante.»

«Vierumäki era una gara difficile per chiunque, e lo era ancora di più per un ragazzo come Charlie che sta affrontando un percorso di crescita in una categoria molto impegnativa. La E3 è una delle classi più dure del mondiale, con piloti di grandissimo livello, e riuscire a restare costantemente vicino ai primi dieci in un contesto del genere è comunque un segnale incoraggiante. Per noi contano la continuità, l’adattamento e la capacità di fare esperienza gara dopo gara, e anche questo weekend ci ha dato indicazioni utili. In più, la collaborazione con Luca Fischeder ci ha dato ulteriore soddisfazione. Ha scelto di affidarsi a noi per la gestione tecnica della sua Sherco in Finlandia e i risultati sono stati molto positivi, soprattutto considerando il livello della gara e il fatto che fosse il suo esordio mondiale stagionale. CLOSE TO THE E3 TOP TEN AGAIN IN FINLAND
Team Lunigiana Enduro tackled the third round of the 2026 EnduroGP World Championship in Vierumäki, Finland, completing another useful weekend in the growth path built around Charlie Chater.
After the positive signs shown in the opening two rounds of the season, the young British rider faced a very particular event, held in a typically Nordic setting and on one of the most selective terrains of the entire championship. In Vierumäki, in the Salpausselkä area, riders had to complete a loop of around 61 kilometres three times per day, with three special tests on each lap: the Extreme Test, the Enduro Test and the Cross Test. All of this took place on a difficult surface, with mud, water, sand, roots, rocks and long forest sections, made even more demanding by Friday’s rain and by the way the ground deteriorated as the weekend went on.
A hard and very selective race
For Chater, who competed in the E3 class aboard the Sherco prepared by Team Lunigiana Enduro, Finland represented a severe test. The E3 class once again proved to be one of the most competitive and demanding categories in the World Championship, with riders such as Steve Holcombe, Brad Freeman, Albin Norrbin and Matteo Cavallo among the main contenders.
Even in such a context, Charlie managed the weekend with consistency and composure, staying close to the class top ten throughout the entire event.
Charlie Chater’s results
In Friday’s Super Test, Charlie Chater finished 34th overall and 11th in the E3 class. On Saturday, he ended the day in 35th overall, once again taking 11th place in E3. On Sunday, the British rider maintained the same level of consistency, finishing 33rd overall and again 11th in the E3 class.
These results did not quite move him back into the class top ten, but they confirmed a positive trend: Chater completed another steady race in a category of extremely high level and on terrain that was anything but easy, continuing the process of growth and adaptation that remains the main goal of this stage of the season.
Team Lunigiana also supporting Luca Fischeder
The Finnish weekend also brought another source of satisfaction for the structure managed by Gianni Belloni. In Vierumäki, Team Lunigiana Enduro provided technical assistance for the Sherco of German rider Luca Fischeder, a former German enduro champion, who chose to rely on the team for the technical management of his bike during the Finnish World Championship round.
For Fischeder, this was his World Championship debut, and he immediately delivered strong results from Friday onwards. In the Super Test, he took an excellent 6th overall and an impressive 2nd place in E3. On Saturday, he then finished 28th overall and 9th in class, before making another step forward on Sunday with 17th overall and 6th in E3.
It was a very positive international debut, one that does not yet fully define whether he will continue his World Championship programme this season, but it has already opened a concrete possibility: should Fischeder decide to go on with the series, he is very likely to do so again together with Team Lunigiana Enduro, which is already ready to welcome him from the double Portuguese rounds scheduled for 12-14 June and 19-21 June.

«Finland was a really tough race, very different from the previous ones. The ground kept changing all the time and you had to stay focused in every special test, because with the mud, roots, rocks and forest sections it was very easy to make mistakes. It was not easy to find the rhythm straight away, but overall I think it was another useful weekend. We stayed close to the E3 top ten on every day and we keep gaining important experience.»

«Vierumäki was a difficult race for everyone, and even more so for a young rider like Charlie, who is still in a growth phase within a very demanding category. E3 is one of the toughest classes in the World Championship, with riders of extremely high level, and being constantly close to the top ten in that kind of field is still an encouraging sign. For us, consistency, adaptation and the ability to gain experience race after race are what really matter, and this weekend gave us more useful indications.
On top of that, our collaboration with Luca Fischeder gave us further satisfaction. He chose to rely on us for the technical management of his Sherco in Finland, and the results were very positive, especially considering the level of the event and the fact that it was his World Championship debut.
